Research Problem Statement

Understanding the daily routine of a student and how it affects their coffee ordering process.

Research Objective 1

I want to understand: What factors influence a students coffee ordering process in the morning?

About: The individual has a class at 8am so prefers coffee early in the morning. The individual does not like to wait in long lines. They prefer to make coffee at home so it is readily available.

Research Objective 2

I was to understand: How can we make obtaining coffee outside of the house easier for the individual?

About: Even though mobile ordering apps exist, sometimes placing your order in the morning can be an inconvenience depending on the volume of the mobile orders already in queue.

Research Plan

Background: Gulp Coffee wants to further enhance their online customer experience, we must find out how to properly introduce new features to the website that will make the users navigation easy and enjoyable.

Research Objective: Gulp Coffee wants to enhance the online customer experience for anyone who might visit their website. Easy to navigate between checking out and viewing items to purchase. A variety of products to purchase. When the consumer is looking to drink their coffee? How to consumer prefers to drink their coffee? If the consumer is a morning or night person? If coffee is a big part of their daily routine and how long they can go without it?

Research Method: Our research method of choice for this particular project is going to be conducting interviews for further research.

Participants: Two college students with morning classes.

As a student why is it important to your routine that you consume caffeine before your class specifically?

In the instances that life gets in the way of your routine, how do you currently redirect to get back on track?
On an average day how long would you expect to wait in line at a coffee shop?
How would a lack of caffeine affect your performance throughout the day?
